One of the greatest clarinetists to land on the West Coast, John Stafford joined David Sturdevant's San Francisco Medicine Ball Band in 1972. Stafford went on to play at the famed St. Francis Hotel for 28 years. Joined together in many formulations over the years, they formed a duo in 2006. Deeply rooted in New Orleans, Stafford and Sturdevant perform a vast array of styles covering the entire 20th century, evoking joyful spirits from each era. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Featuring two of the greatest accordionists anywhere, Trio Davide will perform authentic Italian standards and arias exclusively, or any combination of the Great American Songbook with features from around the world. The sensational vocals of tenor David Miotke (in Italian and English), are propelled by his accordion in tandem with the brilliant fingers of David Baioni. This unique combination is anchored by the guitar rhythms of David Sturdevant, also on mandola, chromatic harmonica and harmony vocals. Many of Northern California's premier vocalists engage Trio Davide as their favored accompanists. In concert, for dancing or tasteful background music, this eclectic trio emotes pure joy. And it's infectious!
